Ok, well ECI went very well, not sure why I never contacted them before, I am optimistic about their services for Josef.
On the other hand, Josef got his new AFO yesterday. I anticipated having to buy new shoes as I knew it would be bigger to allow for growth of his foot. Went to 4 different stores and no luck. I could nto find a shoe big enough to fit that was also somewhat decent looking. I ended up at Shoe Carnival. By this time, I was exhausted, the sales girl was extremely helpful. She tried at least 10 different shoes on the brace and we finally found a Nike size 8 wide that fit the brace. Josef wears a size 6.5, so I had to buy two pair of shoes. That is ok, I was prepared for the possibility, but I was not prepared for the reality of my little Josef with two obviously different sized shoes. I almost lost it in the store and on the way home, and it still wears on my heart. I love him, and accept him, and don't thinkk of him as different, but he does look different now with one giant shoe. Maybe it sounds silly, but it hurts me. I need to get over it. He is fine, he knows no difference. He keeps on going.
